Day 23: No Rest In the Rain

There has been this consistent rain and gloomy feeling this month of May.  From the intense flooding down in Mississippi all the way up to the persistent cloudiness here in Boston, it has been a constant...and it's affecting everyone.

I almost don't know what the sky looks like anymore.  As someone who tries to stay positive, even through all these difficult times, the weather has not really helped in getting out of the depression.

There's a part of me that wants to say, "Well, it is what it is.  We can't do anything about it.  We'll appreciate the sunshine so much more."

Then there's the other part of me that wants to sink into a little funk, hide under my covers, and nap all day.

I am craving some warmth, and unfortunately it is too cold and raw outside.

But, it's not going to stop me from wearing bright colors and combating the cold that way.  I'm definitely not going to stop turning up the music as I travel through the city.

Obviously, Pink Martini's "Hang On Little Tomato" is high on my playlist.



But I've recently rediscovered this inspiring song by Carole King.

City Sights - Staying Cool

Holy moly, it's hot!

I don't know if it's really worth it yet to put the AC in, since there's a possibility of thunderstorms tonight.  At work, however, the AC is supposedly on.  How is it possible that I can barely feel the air in our office when it's so cold in the winter?

So, in an effort to stay cool, I wanted to post not hot photos from earlier this year.

For those of your not in New England, consider yourselves lucky.  It's been raining for 3 days straight here in Boston.  Tons of places are flooded throughout Massachusetts.

To add to this weather, my immune system decided this would be an appropriate time for me to get sick.  I'm talking sinus grossness, throat soreness, body aches, chills and heating up, and lack of appetite.  I guess if I could be sick at any other point, this rainy weekend and Monday would be a good one.

But, to make matters more interesting, we seem to have sprung a leak.  Well..multiple leaks.  Granted it's not as bad as some of the flooding that others are experiences in their homes, but it's still pretty lame.  Three out of four rooms have leaks.  The one room that doesn't have leaking had leaking about 2 years ago, and our land lady had reconstruction on our building to fix all that leaking.  But, our land lady and the company she hired clearly didn't consider 3-days worth of rain and high winds.

So, here are some pics I snapped from our leakage.
